Buying a rail ticket for France in Australia

Postby caron on Wed Oct 22, 2008 5:14 am

Hi,

My family and I are travelling from Paris to Geneva this Christmas and I would like to purchase our tickets now. Which website should I use? Is raileurope.com.au a legitimate website? I live in Australia.

Thank you for your help.

Hi Caron,

RailEurope.com.au is a legitimate site. It's the official reseller of France's TGV tickets for Australia.

The downside is that RailEurope often charges fees for delivery of tickets. If the delivery fee is off-putting you can get around that by using TGV-Europe.com site instead. I've posted an article on how to avoid fees with TGV ticket purchases from abroad.

I did a quick search on TGV-Europe and found tickets for 55€ between Paris Gare de Lyon and Geneva Station.

Best regards,

Ben
