CDG to Laval

Postby unnivat on Wed Oct 29, 2008 10:22 am

Hello,

I am planning to visit Laval 53000, France during the next month. I am a first time visitor to France.

I can reach CDG by 11AM. From there how can I reach Laval? Which mode of transportation is suggested? How do I book my train tickets?

Please advice

Hi Unnivat,

There is a TGV Train from Gare Montparnasse within Paris that leaves at 14:05 each day to Laval, taking 1 hour 31 minutes for the journey. Cost for tickets purchased ahead of time are around 24€.

To get to Gare Montparnasse, take the RER B train from CDG Airport to Paris, getting off at Denfert Rochereau station. From this station, transfer to the Metro Line 6 direction Charles de Gaulle Etoile (use the same billet Ile-de-France you used for the RER B). 3 stations along the line will be station: Montparnasse Bienvenue. Descend the Metro there and walk upstairs to the Grandes Lignes train platforms (see the photos of Gare Montparnasse for a better idea).

Please see my articles on buying TGV Tickets for help on that if you're coming from outside of Europe. If you're coming from within Europe, you may wish to use TGV-Europe.com for buying your tickets.

Good luck and let me know if you have any other questions,

Ben
