Driving near Paris, then taking the train

Postby mattjr on Thu Mar 26, 2009 6:55 am

Hi, I'm going to drive from Calais to Paris. I want to park north of Paris - perhaps Le Bourget or Louvres. Do the train stations have sufficient parking and do you know roughly how much a day ticket is on the trains? I would like to visit the sites by train, so I imagine I need a ticket that covers a few networks?
Many thanks! Matt

Hi Matt,

Transilien train stations generally have multi-day parking available. To find out about a particular station you'll have to use the French version of the site since the English one is quite limited. (Search on Bourget and you'll see some information about the station: 100-200 parking spots, within Zone 3, on the RER B line).

Best regards,

Ben

ps. Forgot to mention, a Ticket Mobilis 3 zone ticket or a Paris Visite 3 Zone 1 day will do the trick for unlimited trips during the day. The Mobilis will be cheaper, but comes with no discounts for various touristy things. See the Metro Basics and RER Basics guides for more information.
