Forfait Loisirs no more..

Postby Elke289 on Fri Jan 09, 2009 12:40 pm

Hi again Ben,
Just read that SNCF doesn't sell the Forfait Loisirs to Versailles anymore. Now trying to figure out the costs on the 'normal' metro and RER C routes to Vesailles.

I'll be taking the metro from the 12th to Bir Hakeim and walking to Champs de Mars to get on the RER C to Versailles. What would the cost be? Or would a Mobilis be better?

Thanks in advance!

Hi Elke,

I checked out both the RATP Itinerary planner and the Transport Ile-de-France Itinerary tool and both recommend taking a RER C train from Bibliotheque François-Mitterrand or Gare d'Austerlitz for the fastest way from Paris to Versailles.

If starting from the 12th arrondissement:
  • Metro Line 6 till Bercy
  • Metro Line 14 till Bibliothèque François-Mitterrand
  • RER C direction Versailles-Rive Gauche (till Versailles-Rive Gauche)

A single Billet Ile-de-France from Paris to Versailles Rive Gauche will cost 2,90€ and cover you for both Metro and RER C, regardless of where you start.

Unless you plan on doing a bunch more trips around Paris during the same day, avoid the Ticket Mobilis 4 zone, which would be the required ticket for Paris - Versailles which costs 9,60€. Return Billets Ile-de-France between Paris - Versailles would cost 5,80€.

Thanks for the information on the end of the Forfait Loisirs with Chateau Versailles.

Best regards,

Ben
