Just back from Paris; a few comments

Ben was very helpful to me as I prepped for our trip; thought I'd add my two cents for others:

1. At CDG, the machines where you purchase your RER tickets are now GREEN, not blue. Aside from that, Ben's step-by-step directions are outstanding.

2. We bought the Navigo pass and highly recommend it. Especially if: You will be coming into Paris at the start of a week and staying for a week, or if you plan (or hope) to return. You can top them up the next time.

3. Save yourself money and bring your own pictures for the Navigo. No need to spend 4 euros each on the photo machines. Just use Ben's instructions to print your own. As long as they are the right size, no one will ever bug you for not having a "real" photo.

4. We hopped on and off the Metro countless times each day because we had a pass. We never would've done that if we used regular tickets. Really a timesaver, and it's very empowering to master the Metro in a sometimes intimidating city!

5. Finally, I wanted to thank Ben for a fantastically helpful site. For those of you preparing to go to Paris, please, read through this site and you'll find that 95% of your transportation questions will already be answered.

Enjoy your trip!
