Kids of 5-6 years old pay tickets?

If the adults in a Paris visit will use Navigo, how about a child of 5-6 years old? In most of the countries he travels free, but apparently not in Paris. We won't buy or stamp tickets for us but we'll have to take care to have tickets and stamp them every time for the child?

Yes, unfortunately if a child is old enough/large enough to take up a seat (basically older than 3 years old), they'll have to use tickets each time.

The easiest way to do this is to pass through handicapped/wheelchair barriers, using one of the Ticket t+ for your kids. The gate will open after a 5 second delay. Then all of you should pass through simultaneously. This isn't actually sanctioned by RATP, but it's the most practical. (Since you & your husband will have Navigo's, you're covered for travel regardless).

If there isn't a wheelchair barrier, use a regular gate or turnstile and let your child go through in front of you, inserting the ticket for him and making sure the turnstile rotates properly.

Best regards,

Ben
