Metro Line CDG to Montparnasse RER B

Postby fudge_brownie on Thu Sep 18, 2008 5:56 am

I have to get from CDG to Montparnasse. Want to use RER B. I see I can change to the metro at St Michael-Notre Dame or at Denfert-Rochereau.

Somewhere I read that Metro Line 6 from Denfert-Rochereau lands closer to the TGV lines at Montparnasse than Metro Line 4. Also it looks that the transfer from RER to Metro is a bit easier at Denfert-Rochereau than St Michael-Notre Dame.

Any opinion on what would be best?

Hi FudgeBrownie,

I believe you're correct that Metro Line 6 arrives closer than lines 4 or 12 at Montparnasse although I would need to double check this in person some time. Lines 4 and 12 require taking the long moving sidewalk from the Metro station at Montparnasse Bienvenue to get to the Gare Montparnasse train station (which serves the TGV train lines).

Either way, I'd recommend you take the RER B from CDG until Denfert-Rochereau and switching to line 6 direction Etoile from there. That will be fastest I believe.

Best regards,

Ben
