Museum Pass + Carte Orange?

Postby watermark on Mon Jun 08, 2009 9:45 am

Arriving on a Monday leaving on Sunday. We are Museum freaks. Staying in 6er. I was going to get a Museum pass (4 or 6 days) and a Carte Orange (1+2 zone) when we arrive on Monday, but am not sure this is the best deal for us. Any advise?

If you plan on taking the Metro or Bus more than 4 times in one day, then the Carte Orange via a Carte Navigo Découverte makes sense. Any less than 4 trips per day, you're better off just buying books of 10 single Metro tickets (carnets). Since you're spending most of your time within the museum, carnets might make more sense for you.

Is the Carte Orange the same as Navigo Decouverte ? I plan to be in Paris for nine days, starting September 6th, and am considering buying a pass. Would like to know the best option. Most trips will be in central Paris, but also plan a couple of day trips out of town. Arriving at CDG, but plan to take Roissy bus into city. Staying in 7th. Thanks for any advice.
