navigo and transilien

can you use the carte orange weekly or monthly on the Transilien trains?
Specifically, can I get on a Transilien train (for example in Vanves, a zone 2 station) and descend at Gare Montparnasse without a problem?
thanks

Hi MusiqueGirl,

Yes, you can use a Carte Orange week or month pass on any Transilien trains within the 6 fare zones on this map. There are some Transilien trains that go beyond the Ile-de-France area and require special fares (such as Paris to Malesherbes), but your voyage is well within the normal zone coverage.

Carte Orange prices depend on zones. A 2 zone Carte Orange which would cover Vanves (Zone2) to Paris Zone 1 (which includes Gare Montparnasse) is 16,80€/week or 55,10€/month.

Best regards,

Ben

thank you so much!

one more thought - if I buy a navigo orange card for zones 1-2 and then want to go to zone 4, sannois for example, can I add extra money to the card to have it deducted? or do I have to buy a ticket?

thanks again

If it's a one time trip, just grab an aller-retour (round trip) billet Ile-de-France. Carte Orange is sold at a week minimum.
