Paris CDG T3 to Arc de Triomphe

Postby Lisa on Thu Jan 08, 2009 8:47 am

Hi Ben

I am travelling in a group of 4 to Paris in 2 weeks time. We will be arriving at T3 and want to get to our hotel near Arc de Triomphe/CDG Etoile. My french brother in law who travels to Paris regularly advised us to get the AirFrance bus as it takes us direct to Arc de Triomphe, however, I note it does not serve T3. I've trawled the web for the last hour and from what I can see we would be much better taking the RER to Le Chatelet then changing for CDG Etoile. What do you think? Would it be silly to transfer to another terminal simply to get the bus?

Many thanks.

Hi Lisa,

If you don't have a lot of heavy luggage (which would be a bit annoying to lug around in the subways), the RER B to Paris - Chatelet Les Halles, then RER A direction La Défense (or Metro Line 1) would work well for you guys.

If you do have lots of heavy luggage, then Le Cars AirFrance bus is a "less hassle" option. And taking the shuttle train (CDGVAL) between CDG terminals is very easy. Refer to the CDG Terminal 1 to Paris article for a picture of the CDGVAL entrance in the Roissypole building.

I've never landed at CDG Terminal 3 before, but I believe it's about a 5 minute walk between Terminal 3 and Roissypole, where the RER train and CDGVAL shuttle are located.

Best regards,

Ben

Thanks Ben.

We'll only have hand luggage and 2 suitcases between the 4 of us so RER it is then. Thanks again.
