Paris day tour

Postby six on Sun Sep 28, 2008 12:01 am

We shall be staying at disneyland Paris, and are planning a day trip around Paris using the RER from Marne le Valle,
around Paris we will be travelling on the: metro, bus, Montmartrobus and the funicular.
and return to Marne le Valle later in the day.
1) Should we buy "Paris Visite zones 1-5" and be covered for all Paris transport?
2) What time is the last train from Paris to Marne le Valle,
3) Till whatime does the Metro run?
Thanking you in advance

Hi Patrick,

You can purchase a Ticket Mobilis day ticket, 5 zones, that will be slightly cheaper than a 6 zone Paris Visite card (5 zone Paris Visite doesn't exist). This day ticket can be purchased from any ticket window or Metro/RER ticket vending machine, for instance, at Marne La Vallée station.

Last train from Chatelet Les Halles station in central Paris to Disneyland at Marne La Vallée Chessy is 00:36 (just after midnight).

Metro trains generally stop running at 00:30 - 00:45 in the morning (just after midnight). On Friday/Saturday nights the Metro closes 1 hour later than usual. See the first and last Paris Metro train schedule here.

Best regards,

Sorry to ask again.
We shall be arriving at Orly airport this friday, and shall travel to Disneyland Paris by train.
Then on Saturday a day trip around Paris using RER Metro buses etc.
We shall be 2 Adults, 1 daughter 21 years old and a 6 year old child.
Would it be best to purchase, 2 Mobilis day ticket and 2 Jeunes tickets.

Thanking you for all your help

Patrick

Hi Patrick,

Just a few things to note:
- ticket jeunes are valid only for Sat./Sun./holidays, (not available on Fridays)
- ticket Mobilis are not valid for the Orlyval, nor Orlybus, but is valid for the Orly RATP shuttle bus between Orly terminals and RER C train station Pont de Rungis. But, the ticket Jeunes is not valid for the Orly RATP shuttle bus between Pont de Rungis.

RATP city Buses 183 et 285 are both valid options for either Ticket Mobilis or Ticket Jeunes.

Horribly confusing, I know, see this for more information (in French).

Having said all that, it might be simpler to purchase Carte Paris Visite 2 days, 6 zones for the entire family which will cover you for all your travel. In addition, Orly Airport is covered, even the Orlyval train to Antony station on the RER B line.

2 day 6 Zone Paris Visite is 27,50€ for adults. Child fare is 13,75€. (Full price list).

Don't hesitate to ask if you have further questions,

Thanks Ben, we will try our luck tomorrow. With your hints, it should be less complicated.
