Paris Passes required

Postby CLKJHB on Fri May 29, 2009 4:03 pm

Hi Ben my son of 24yrs and I will be visiting Paris 20 to 22 June. We arrive at Charles de Gaulle airport at around 15h00 and need to make our way to the centre of Paris. We will then travel in and around Paris sightseeing - including a boat trip on the River (hop on and off?) We plan to visit the Palace at Versailles at some stage and then need to make our way to Bercy Station to board a night train to Milano in Italy. What travel tickets and Museum passes do you recommend? We are considering purchasing a Eurorail Pass for France and Italy. What benefits does this Pass give me in France at least and if you know - in Italy? Thank you!!

Hi CLKJHB,

I'd recommend a Paris Visite 3 zone 3 day pass for use while you're in Paris, and to purchase single tickets for your trip from Airport CDG to Paris and out to Versailles (8,40€ and 2,90€ respectively, one way, per person). The Paris Visite will allow you unlimited travel within central Paris and gives you discounts such as reduced fare on certain boat trips on the Seine. See the Paris Visite page for more information on discounts.

Best regards,

Ben
