One of the things that was mentioned on the parisbytrain.com WEB site was this.. "If you’re wanting to buy a simple train ticket to Paris and you have a smart chip credit card or Euro coins"

Does that mean I have to have coins to make my purchase? I will be arriving with Euros. Can I use those in the ticket machines?

Hi there,

Most automated ticket vending machines take coins only, but I do believe there exist some machines that can actually take bills, just don't count on finding them.

You can always just buy some excellent baked goodies and get some change that way

Thanks... Going from CDG to Paris is around 8 euros. Do they have a 1 euro coin? Still, that would seem like a lot of coins to have to come up with, especially if you needed to buy 4 tickets.

There are 1 & 2 euro coins. Of course you could just go into the ticket office and buy the ticket there. Nearly all the time there will be an English speaking ticket seller and they'll happily take Euro cash. Sometimes this is even easier than using the ticket vending machines which have plenty of options.
