RER and Metro tickets

Postby kanikagaba on Sat Jul 04, 2009 9:50 am

Hi,

We are visiting Paris from 9th till 12th of July for the time, so please expect a number of questions :). Thank you so much in advance for sending response for following questions:

From CDC airport there is one RER blue colored service. Our hotel is in Zone 1.

1. So we if take ticket ticket to zone 1, it need change of line from blue to red to reach Gare De Lyon station for hotel. Is it ok to change RER line from blue to red with same ticket as bought from airport?

2. Since most of the attaractions are in zone 1, can I use same ticket (the one bought from airport to reach hotel) to visit other attractions which are in zone 1 on same day?

3. Is it ok to use RER ticket all on metro lines and on all RER services within a specific zone?

4. There is no way I could see day pass fares? Please guide.

5. On day 4th on which we are returning back, I have to take ticket for CDC which means from Zone 1 to CDC, Can I use same ticket to view other attractions before reach airport?

6. We would like to visit Normandy, please suggest best way to reach there and come back on same day?

Kind Regards
Kanika

1) You can use the same ticket from CDG Airport to Paris and any transfers (such as RER B to RER A) necessary to get you to your final destination within Central Paris.

2) No, the ticket you use from CDG to Paris is only good for one single continuous journey. Once you exit a station, that ticket is no longer valid.

3) The RER ticket you get from CDG Airport will be good on the RER B to central Paris, then on any Metro or RER line within central Paris to get you to your final destination. You cannot use this same ticket to visit Versailles (in zone 4) for example.

4) See ticket Mobilis fares for day passes.

Best regards,

Ben

Hi Ben,

Thanks again for your response. We will be now buying a 1-6 zone pass for all 5 days. I guess we can use that any number of times in all zones.
Please confirm.
