St.Michel-NotreDame station

A user of TripAdvisor staying at Hotel Esmeralda near Notre Dame said that this station was under repair and couldn't be used to access the airports. Will that be true in March 2009? Thanks in advance for your answer.

Hi Cooke,

I just checked RATP's construction page and there's no work being done to St Michel Notre Dame currently.

Are you sure the information from TripAdvisor is up to date?

If you run into an issue where a station is shut down, simply alight either at the station before or after and find an alternate route via the Metro, which will likely get you pretty close.

Best regards,

Ben

Hi Ben,

I've never been to Paris before. We are flying to CDG T3 and the nearest train to our hotel is St.Michel-NotreDame station. Am I right in thinking I can get a RER B train direct from the airport to this station and there is also a return journey from this station?

Do you know an approximate time for the journey each way so we can plan timings.

Thanks in advance
;)

Hi Noleafuk,

You're correct: directly from Charles de Gaulle Airport you can catch a RER B train from CDG to Paris, which will stop at St. Michel-Notre Dame station.

The train station you'll want to use is located in the Roissypole building, a 5 minute walk from CDG Terminal 3. The CDG Terminal 1 to Paris photo tour article has photos of the Roissypole building and the train station, named Aeroport CDG 1.

Travel time between Aeroport CDG 1 (the train station, not the terminal) and St. Michel-Notre Dame station is about 35-38 minutes.

If I may suggest, the following two articles should give you a good understanding of how the Paris Metro and Paris RER trains work: Paris Metro and Paris RER.

Best regards,

Ben
