Tickets incl Forfait Loisirs etc

Postby Elke289 on Tue Dec 09, 2008 12:04 pm

Hi everyone!
Two of us plan on spending 5 days in Paris and will be visiting Versailles on one of these days. Our base is in the 12th arrondissement. Now, the question (as always) is: What type of tickts will see us thru. Here are my thoughts - please advise.

Arrival Thursday 7am CDG T2: Buy aller-retour (CDG/Paris/CDG) €17.60

To Eiffel and surrounds: Need at least 2 tickets each to get there from the 12th (?)
Return to the 12th: One ticket each (from Louvre).
The rest still not planned, but assume 3 tickets each every day should be fine?
(2 people x 3 tickets x 5 days = 30 tickets - equals 3 carnets) €34.20

Versailles: Forfait Loisirs (apparently this includes Metro/RER C/Versailles Entry) €38.80

I've read that the Mobilis is good but might be restricted to Paris residents only. Any clarification would be appreciated. Would this be a better option if available, rather than the carnets?

Before I forget - great info site! ;)

Hi Elke,

You've done some excellent research. I think you've found the most economical way to get around on the Metro & RER for the style of travel you're planning.

Even if you bought ticket Mobilis each day, it would be more expensive than your carnets. Per person they are 5,80€. Thus 2 x 5 x 5,80€ = 50,80€. Unless you make 5 or more trips per day, the single tickets from a carnet are more economical than the Mobilis.

And, you can trust me or the Paris Regional Transit Authority, Ticket Mobilis is for everyone, residents of France or not.

Best regards,

Ben
