Urgent! Bus and Train Booking

Postby consiewong on Thu Jan 08, 2009 2:48 pm

Hi Ben,

I have some problem in finding the bus connection between CDG airport and the hotel I will stay with - Première Classe Roissy- Villepinte Parc des Expositions at Avenue Des Nations which is just opposite to the Exhibition site of Villepinte. As there is no shuttle bus service, shall I take a taxi instead?

I will arrive in CDG airport on 11th Jan and will have to leave for Angers by TGV on the next day. I depend on travel agency to book a ticket for me since I am told that the ticket can only be posted by mail and I cannot afford the time to wait for it. HOWEVER, the travel agency still has't confirmed the train ticket yet . What shall I do in case the travel agent cannot get a seat for me?

Thankyou in advance for your help!

Hi Consie,

Bus

The Première Classe Roissy hotel is very close to CDG Airport. Taking a taxi would be the least hassle option and would cost about 15€ I'm guessing.

A less expensive option would be to take a RER B train from CDG Airport towards Paris. The station where you will get off the train is "Parc des Expositions" which is the first RER B station beyond Aeroport CDG 1 station. Cost is 3,60€.

Keep in mind that CDG has two RER B stations: Aeroport CDG 2 - TGV and Aeroport CDG 1.

You must be careful not to take an "express" RER B train which travels directly from Aeroport CDG 1 to Gare du Nord station in Paris without stopping at Parc des Expositions. To tell whether the next train is an express train, look at the overhead video screens on the train platform (or at the front of the train) which will show a four letter "code" for the train. If the code is KROL, it is an express train going directly to Paris, thus, don't take it. Any other train code leaving CDG will stop at Parc des Expositions. See the CDG Terminal 1 to Paris instructions for more information on this.

See the RER B train schedules for more information on when express trains are running between CDG and Paris.

Train

For the TGV train to Angers, if you don't receive the ticket in the mail today, you will have to purchase a ticket yourself in Paris.

The Angers TGV train leaves from Gare Montparnasse. You can purchase a TGV ticket for Angers when you get to Gare Montparnasse. You can do this from the Immediate Departures ticket counters which are described in the photo tour of Gare Montparnasse.

TGV tickets Paris to Angers should be roughly 48€.

Hope this helps! Good luck,

Ben
