Validate TGV Tickets

Postby ben on Fri Sep 05, 2008 4:00 am

To validate your TGV ticket before boarding the train, use the yellow ticket composter machines like the one pictured below.

An endless stream of people were using the incorrect billet Ile-de-France ticket validation machine for their large TGV tickets yesterday at Gare de Lyon. I think once one person saw someone mistakenly using the machine, the rest followed like a chain reaction.

I am afraid I am going to do the same thing...are the yellow boxes in a specific spot in the train station? How do I find one?

Hi Pat,

There will be many of these validation machines near the head of each train lane at the station. Look for them attached to pillars, support structures, sign posts, etc. You can also watch the crowd as they move towards your TGV train. Many of them will be performing the validation ritual as well. And you'll know which machine is the correct one since you know exactly how they look.

Best of luck,

Ben
