Which Tickets for July Trip

Postby KimT72 on Wed Feb 25, 2009 3:19 pm

Ben:
You are so kind to answer everyone's questions. We will be travelling to Paris from Monday 20 July (arriving by Thalys train) through Friday 24 July departing CDG. Two adults and two kids (6 and 9). We'll likely stay in the central area, not planning to visit Versailles, Disney, etc. just the basics. Would it make more sense for us to get a carnet or a Navigo Decouverte? I imagine we'll come and go from our hotel and other places a few times per day, but not always take the Metro everywhere.

Thanks for your help, not urgently needed since we have until July.

Kim,

Thanks for the kind words.

If you're not planning to make 5 or more rides per day on the bus/Metro, I'd say go with Carnets of Ticket t+ tickets. Make sure you get a book (carnet) of discounted Ticket t+ for your children, who are under the age limit for kids (under 12). This avoids the hassle of getting Découverte cards for everyone.

This will probably work out well for you.

Have a great trip,

Ben
