How long from Gare Nord to Gare Lyon by metro?
Firstly can you please tell me how long the metro ride is from Paris Nord to Paris Gare Lyon & which line is the quickest/easiest/most accessible? I plan to get a TGV train to Dijon & need to be in Dijon by 3pm on Sept 4th. I shall be travelling from UK earlier on the same day by Eurostar leaving from St Pancras UK at 08:02, arriving Paris Nord at 11:17, then metro to Gare Lyon, then 12:58 TGV from Gare Lyon arriving Dijon 14:37....or earlier train to Dijon if you think time allows.
Do you think this itinerary is feasible on the same day or should I arrive in Paris the day before on Sept 3rd? Does it take long to change a prebooked internet train ticket at the booths in the stations & are the instructions in English & easy to follow?
Thanks & looking forward to your response. I keep looking at the rail booking websites, but cannot commit to purchasing tickets until I am sure my proposed trip will work.

Gare du Nord to Gare de Lyon: RER D train is your quickest, most direct option. Takes about 9-10 minutes. Check the overhead panels to make sure you're on the correct side of the train platform for the RER D train. These panels will list the stations being served by the train on this side of the platform and it should show Gare de Lyon as the next station, if you're on the correct side.
Arriving at Gare du Nord at 11:17 and departing Gare de Lyon at 12:58 leaves you plenty of time to make the transfer between stations and purchase some sandwiches or snacks for the train. Depending on the type of ticket you purchase (for example: TGV Pro 2nde), you can swap tickets to take a train earlier than your originally purchase TGV ticket, without additional fees.
The machines (les bornes TGV) for exchanging tickets are quite easy to use, with their English translations.
Best regards,

Thanks for all the info Ben. I could get a later Eurostar train from UK, but I don't want to be rushing & panicking in case I take a wrong turn, get on the wrong platform etc...stations can be very confusing especially for a non-French speaker. I eventually got on to the RER schedules link on your website (took a while to find it) & found out that the RER trip between Paris Nord & Paris Lyon is about 13 - 16 minutes & so yes, I have plenty of time.
Thanks again,

I also leave myself plenty of time to make transfers, which makes for a stress free voyage. Rushing around and panicking due to time constraints is not really a recipe for a relaxing vacation.
Have a great trip.

Especially when there are connecting flights, it is always better to keep some buffer time.
