If I buy a Navigo mois on 31st January 2017 for February 2017, will it start working on the 31st itself or from the 1st of February?

I'm going to study in Paris for 4 months starting 31 January.
If I buy a Navigo decouverte mois on 31st January 2017 for February 2017, will it start working on the 30th itself or from the 1st of February?

Navigo monthly pass will start working on the 1st of the month.
