Paris by Train is written by Ben Lam (ben@parisbytrain.com) a 30 something Internet programmer / techno-economist / blogger from Vancouver, Canada, now living near Paris, France.
The goal of Paris by Train is to be a comprehensive, detailed guide on how to travel Paris and the surrounding Ile-de-France by train. This site started with a simple email to a friend living in Paris about how to get to Fontainebleau. While writing the email, I quickly realized that France’s extremely well developed train network coverage comes at the price of complexity. The aim of this guide is to help travelers use the Paris train system through a collection of detailed articles on topics such as:
- getting from CDG Airport to central Paris
- traveling by train to Paris Disneyland
- using the Paris Metro (with photos)
- navigating Gare du Nord, the Eurostar train station
