Navigo Easy Day Pass & t+ ticket

Hi,
First of all thank you for providing detailed information about all the things and also opportunity to ask questions.
We (5 adults and 1 kid 6 years old) will reach to Paris on 26th May, Sunday evening at CDG airport, and will stay till 29th May, morning. We booked one airbnb for stay at 93200 Saint Denis area with 10 mins walk to the metro line 13 Saint Denis Porte de Paris. To me the best option it seems to buy a Navigo Easy Card and load either t+ ticket or day pass. I have the following questions:

  1. To be economical we will take bus 350 from CDG airport to Porte de la Chapelle and then another bus to reach to room. As long as the time between first and last validation of the ticket remains below 1.5 hours, the journey can be completed in a single t+ ticket, right?
  2. For next 2 days, we will take Navigo Day Pass. Now I am confused that should we take Navigo day Pass for 1-3 zones or 1-2 zones to travel from 93200 to central Paris? We will not take RER trains and as far as I understood that city bus and subway does not have any zone structure.
  3. At some point of our journey, in the Navigo Easy card, we may have t+ ticket and day pass loaded together. When we will put it on the scanner, which one will be taken?
  4. When I am reading different blogs about Saint Denis area, I am getting mixed opinions about the security of that area. As I will be with my big family, I am becoming more concerned. I do not have any idea about that area. Do you have any comments about that?

It will be very helpful if you kindly reply to the above queries. Any other suggestion or comment will be highly appreciated.
Thanks in advance,
Sudeb

  1. Yes if your trip is under 90 minutes a single Ticket t+ should work for your trip on Bus 350 including transfer onto the next bus to get to your final destination.
  2. If you are only taking Paris bus & Paris Metro then a 1-2 zone Navigo Day pass should be sufficient.  You'd only need 1-3 zone coverage if you took the RER or Transilien trains to La Defense, etc.
  3. Navigo Day Passes must specify their date of activation, up to 6 days in advance, when loaded onto a Navigo Easy (or Navigo Decouverte) card, at the time of purchase.  You may load up to two Navigo Day Passes onto a card at any one time, for separate days.  During the Navigo Day Pass' selected day of activation, it will be used before to any Ticket t+ that is also loaded onto the same Navigo Easy Card.  Remember that the Navigo Day Pass ends its validity period at midnight on the day of its activation, regardless of when your first validation of it aboard bus/Metro during the day.  For example if you set the Day Pass validity day as May 27th & you first use the Day Pass to enter the Metro at 1pm, the pass only works until 11:59:59pm the same day, not 1pm the next day (May 28).
  4. I don't have any personal experience with the safety/security situation in Saint Denis so unfortunately I can't comment.

I hope you have a great trip.
