Location !! best for Orly and Paris via public transport

By | June 22, 2023 | in

Good day, so happy I found this site! We are first time travellers to Paris (Europe actually!) we only have 4 days in Paris and want accommodation near public transport that serves Orly airport and tourist attractions in Paris. I can see Choisy le roy may be a good option but I am unsure if this area is safe. Do you have any recommendations and advice for us? thank you :)

I don't have personal experience with staying in the Choisy le Roi area but I haven't heard of many negative experiences out in that direction.  North / North West suburbs outside of central Paris is a different story and I wouldn't recommend that direction.  If you find convenient accommodations near Choisy-le-Roi RER C station I would imagine it would be fine safety wise.

The RER C is quite convenient & quick to get into very central Paris (i.e. Saint-Michel Notre Dame station about 13-19 minutes from Choisy-le-Roi), Orsay Museum (Musée d'Orsay station) to the Eiffel Tower (Champ de Mars station) as well as out to Versailles (Versailles Chateau Rive-Gauche station).  There won't be anything to see in the Choisy-le-Roi area, but accommodations would be much cheaper than in central Paris and still pretty convenient thanks for the RER C line.

Apparently there's a bus (#183) from Orly (Terminal 4 bus loop) to Choisy-le-Roi station, so that should work for getting you from Orly airport to accommodations in that area.  If you're looking to get a Navigo week pass or Navigo Easy pass, you can purchase that from the ticket window (closes at 6pm) at the Terminal 4 bus loop bay for the Orlybus.

Have a great trip.
