Can you use contactless payment like a credit card on the Paris Metro

Paris Metro / RER stations unfortunately do not work with credit / debit, Visa / Mastercard tap on / off access to public transportation.  You'll need to buy physical tickets / passes or load virtual tickets / passes onto your mobile phone to use NFC-based ticket validation.  Using your mobile phone as a Paris transit ticketing device will require you to pre-purchase the fares prior to accessing station turnstiles / faregates.  You can buy Paris transport fares inside Apple Wallet.  Or you can install official Paris transit authority apps on which to load fares/tickets, on either Android or Apple phones.
