You can also use certain automated ticket vending machines (not all distribute Navigo Easy cards, but some do) scattered throughout the CDG Terminal 2 train station.
To buy the Paris Airports Ticket in-person after landing at CDG Terminal 1 or Terminal 3, you can visit the ticket window at the CDG train station serving passengers from Terminal 1 / 3 inside the Roissypole building (train station name is Aéroport Charles de Gaulle 1) accessible by CDGVAL free shuttle train for passengers at CDG Terminal 1 and by the footpath for passenges of CDG Terminal 1.
At Orly Airport the Paris Airports Ticket / Ticket Paris Region Aéroports is sold via automated ticket kiosks at the Metro 14 train station inside Orly airport train station (closest to Orly 3, but accesible by foot from all Orly terminals). How to Buy Paris Airports Ticket Online
You can buy Paris Airport Tickets before you arrive on your smartphone using IdF Mobilites app or directly inside Apple Wallet > transit cards > Paris/Navigo section (fare is listed as “One Way from/to Airports 13€” or “One Way from/to Airports reduced 6.50€” for kids 4-9).
It’s not possible to buy a Navigo Easy card online for delivery to your home prior to arrival in Paris. The Navigo Easy card is only sold at ticket windows and automated ticket vending machines in Paris. The only way to buy a Paris Airports Ticket online is to use your smartphone app, or Apple Wallet.
How to Use Paris Airports Ticket
The Paris Airports Ticket is a contactless fare: you tap it against the card readers at fare gates to validate your ticket and open barriers/unlock turnstiles. This is the same whether you loaded your Paris Airports Ticket onto a Navigo Easy card, your smartphone app or your Apple Wallet: you’ll tap to validate & open gates. It’s important to keep your Navigo Easy card for exiting your destination station. If there are fare gates/turnstiles at your destination (for example, at all RER stations inside central Paris), you’ll need to tap your Paris Airports Ticket to unlock/open the fare gate to exit the station.
Each rider must have their own Navigo Easy (2€) or Paris Transport mobile app, or Apple Wallet to use the Paris Airports Ticket. Multiple people cannot use the same Navigo Easy card or smartphone for the Paris Airports Ticket at the same time. If you are traveling with children, you will need to buy them the Paris Airports Ticket on their own Navigo Easy card, or their own smartphone if they have one.
Expanded Transfer Coverage
Similar to the discontinued CDG Airport Ticket, the new 2025 Paris Airports Ticket includes transfers on Paris Metro lines to any Paris Metro station, on RER train lines to any Paris RER train station in the 5 Paris region fare zones (see map), and now additionally covers transfers direct to Orly Airport and vice-versa on Orlyval train. So regardless of whether you arrive at CDG or ORY airport, you’ll use the 2025 Paris Airports Ticket as it covers both airports identically, allowing travel to or from either airport into central Paris, using RER, Metro, or Orlyval. Previously the old CDG B RER ticket only included transfers to RER stations inside Paris Zone 1, i.e. central Paris (roughly within the inner / green Blvd Périphérique) and Metro stations throughout the Metro line network.
The Paris Airports Ticket now also includes transfers onto express trams T11, T12 and T13 at the edges of central Paris (visible on the Paris RER map). But regular trams T1 – T10 and Paris city buses / night buses are still not included in the transfer coverage of the Paris Airports Ticket. Airport buses Roissybus (CDG to Paris) and Orlybus (Orly to Paris) are also not covered by the Paris Airports Ticket.
In the reverse direction, when traveling from Paris to CDG Airport, the Paris Airports Ticket can be used to begin your trip from any Paris Metro station, any Paris RER station in zones 1-5 or any Transilien/TER train station in zones 1 – 5, to eventually transfer to RER B train to complete your trip to CDG. Your overall journey must be completed in 2 hours (120 minutes) in order for your Paris Airports Train ticket to open the fare gates after arriving at CDG Airport train stations.
Navigo Easy / Mobile Phone
As of July 11, 2024, the train authority is transitioning away from selling the paper based train tickets as single-use disposable paper RER/billet origin-destination tickets (the size of a rectangular postage stamp 1in. x 3in. or 2.5cm x 7.5cm, see image below). Travelers are now directed to buy the Paris Airports Ticket on a Navigo Easy card (2€) or on your mobile phone using one of the official Paris transport mobile phone apps (no extra fee). The Paris Airports Ticket is also available directly in Apple Wallet as of January 1, 2025.
You can now buy Navigo Easy cards directly from automated ticket vending machines at CDG Airport. In a single transaction you can buy multiple CDG to Paris Metro Train tickets for RER B on several Navigo Easy cards directly from automated ticket machines or from staffed ticket window/ticket offices at CDG airport train stations.
Can’t have both Metro-Train-RER tickets & Paris Airport Train Tickets on the same Navigo Easy Card/Smartphone
It is currently not possible to load both Paris Metro-Train-RER tickets (the new Paris Metro & RER ticket, replacing the old Ticket t+) and the new Paris Airports Ticket onto the same Navigo Easy card or mobile phone/mobile app/Apple Wallet at the same time! Only one of these two fares can be loaded onto a Navigo Easy/mobile phone at one time. When all the tickets of either type are used up on the mobile phone or Easy card and 4 hours has passed since the last ticket was validated, then the other type of ticket, Metro-Train-RER or Paris Airports Ticket, can be loaded onto that same phone or Navigo Easy card. If you need both Ticket Metro-Train-RER and Paris Airports Train Tickets you will either need two Navigo Easy cards, or one Navigo Easy and one supported phone: one to hold the Paris Airports Train Tickets and another to hold Metro-Train-RER tickets.
Before July 11, 2024, CDG-Paris RER B tickets could not be put onto Navigo Easy cards at all; they were only available as a single-use, disposable paper coupon-style ticket (pictured above). Now, the Paris Airports Ticket must be put onto a Navigo Easy card or your mobile phone or Apple Wallet; this fare doesn’t exist as a single-use paper ticket.
The reason for the switch is the current administration of the regional train authority (Ile-de-France Mobilités) aims to remove all single-use paper tickets for public transport in Paris/Ile-de-France region by end of 2025, in order to reduce paper waste, the number of demagnetised tickets requiring replacement and simply lost tickets.
Ile-de-France Mobilités is working on a solution to allow loading of both Paris Metro-Train-RER tickets and Paris Airport Tickets onto their mobile phone apps at the same time, sometime in 2025 or beyond.
