Hi, today i got on the bus line 62 – i travelled in one directonion, dropped off the kids at school and then got on the same line going back in the other direction all within 90 mins – when i put my ticket in for the second time it beeped and flashed a red light at me! can i not use my ticket in such a way! do i actually have to change from one bus line to another bus line of a different number? please kindly reply thank you

Yes you can't use the same ticket on the same bus line.  The machine thinks you're trying to revalidate an already validated ticket for that line.
You would have to use another bus line if you're attempting this.
