How do I get to Gare Montparnasse from Charles De Gaulle airport please

By | August 18, 2016 | in

Good afternoon,
We are flying to Paris on the 16th September and staying at a hotel near Gare Montparnasse.  Is there a direct train from Charles De Gaulle to this station?
Thank you for your time.

The RER B train from CDG to Paris makes a stop near Montparnasse at Denfert Rochereau station.  From there you need to transfer onto Metro 4 (use the same RER ticket for any gates) towards Porte de Clignancourt until Montparnasse Bienvenue station (get off here, make your way to street level and walk to your hotel).  Alternatively you can take Metro 6 from Denfert Rochereau in direction of Charles de Gaulle Etoile (which is the station at Arc de Triomphe) until Montparnasse Bienvenue station.  The Metro cars on line 4 have a greater chance of being newer than Metro 6 and therefore offer more room for luggage, but that's not guaranteed (rolling stock is not replaced/updated all at once, so many older cars are still in circulation).
