Single-use RATP tickets for bus, Metro, RER, tram, do not expire before used. If the ticket is not accepted by a machine, bring the ticket to a ticket window and tell the agent the ticket does not work and you would like an exchange. They can verify whether the ticket was ever used and will replace the ticket with a fresh one if the ticket was never used/accepted for travel.
