i miss my station, port -royal, and arrive at cite universitaire station.

im heading towards port royal stn from CDG in RER B train. if i miss my station, can i just cross over to the opposite side and take the train to head back to port royal? Do i have to go through the gantry?

Yes you can use the same ticket to head in the opposite direction if you miss your stop.  At Cité Universitaire I believe trains from either direction arrive on the same platform so no gantry crossing required.
