Non-sequential days using Paris Visite Pass/card

If I buy a 5 day pass, are you able to not use it on sequential days? Eg. I use it Mon/Wed/Fri Sat Sun, not Tuesday or Thursday. Does it work like this, or once I start, it is only good for the next 4 days. i.e start Mon. finish Fri. even if it has only been used 3 days in this period?

The pass is valid for 5 days from the time of first usage regardless of how much or little you use it on any day after that point.
