Travel to Paris when arriving on Terminal 1 but using Baggage du Monde on Terminal 2

Hello! I have read your directions to access Paris via Terminal 1 to Terminal 3, as well as from Terminal 2. We arrive from Terminal 1 and typically would travel via Terminal 3 to Paris. As we need to drop our luggage should we simply take the CDGVAL from Terminal 1 to Terminal 2 and access Level 4 and then go down to catch the train?
Also, would there be an additional charge to transfer from our train ticket to a bus to reach the Eiffel Tower? Lastly, is there a location near the Eiffel Tower to purchase a bus ticket back to a site closer to the RER B line? This, before returning to the RER B station where we would need to then purchase another ticket to return to the CDG airport?
Thank you very  much!!!

Yes, I'd recommend taking the CDGVAL shuttle from CDG Terminal 1 to Terminal 2 to access luggage storage services (very close to the exit/entrance of CDGVAL train at CDG T2).  Then you can take the RER B train from CDG T2 train station to Paris.

RER Tickets don't include Paris bus transfers so you would need a new Paris Metro/Bus ticket to use a Paris bus to go to Eiffel Tower.  Although, note that you can transfer from one RER train to another RER train in Paris using the same RER ticket.  At Paris RER Station Saint Michel Notre Dame transfer from RER B to a RER C train to go to Eiffel Tower.  There are several RER C train directions from Saint Michel Notre Dame station you can take.  They are:

  • Versailles Chateau RG (Rive Gauche)
  • St Quentin-en-Yvelines
  • Pontoise

These RER C trains will stop at Champ de Mars Tour Eiffel station, which is the closest RER station to the Eiffel Tower.

You can buy RER tickets (both for going to Paris and coming back) at the same time when you arrive at CDG.  There's no time limit from which you need to use your RER ticket after purchase.  Paris RER/Metro ticket validity starts after the ticket is used, not when it's purchased.
