The closest Paris Metro station to the Fencing / Taekwondo event at Grand Palais is Champs-Elysées Clémenceau station on Paris Metro lines 1 and 13.
But Champs-Elysées Clémenceau Metro station will be closed during the 2024 Paris Olympics!
You must use other stations or take an alternate route to get to Grand Palais events venue.
How to Get to Grand Palais Olympic Events
Coming from Left Bank / South of River Seine
- use Invalides station and walk 5 min. across Bridge Alexandre III
- Invalides station is accessible on Metro line 8, Metro line 13 and RER C
- at Invalides station use exits for “Grand Palais” / “Pont Alexandre III” if nearby, otherwise any exit is fine. (It’s easier to orient yourself at street level than underground.)

- cross the Seine river by walking across Pont Alexandre III bridge
- the glass domed ceiling and four-horse chariots of Grand Palais should be visible from the bridge
Coming from the Right Bank / North of River Seine
To access Grand Palais from the Northern half of Paris (the “Right Bank”)…
- Metro station Franklin D. Roosevelt (FDR) and a 5 minute walk down Av. Franklin D. Roosevelt
- Franklin D. Roosevelt (FDR) station is on Metro line 1 and Metro line 9
- FDR station will be the closest station to Grand Palais Olympic venue from the North side of the river Seine (due to closures)
- Metro lines 1 & 9 will be extremely busy. Be prepared for lengthy delays exiting and entering stations.
