Paris Orly Airport Tram 7
Orly Airport Tram 7 has been operating between Southeast Paris and ORY Airport since 2013. This article explains how to take Paris Tram 7 between the end of Metro 7 (station Villejuif – Louis Aragon) and Orly Airport Terminal 4 (formerly South Terminal) where Tram 7 stops.
Orly Airport Tram Tickets
Tram 7 requires only a single ticket t+ (a regular Paris Metro ticket) between Villejuif – Louis Aragon Metro station and Orly Airport Terminal 4. Note: You cannot use an already validated Metro ticket to transfer from a Paris Metro train onto Tram 7 to get to Orly Airport. You must use a new Metro ticket once you board Tram 7 at Villejuif – Louis Aragon station. Villejuif-Louis Aragon Metro station is in Paris Zone 3 and Orly Airport is in Zone 4, so a new, single Metro ticket will cover this fare / leg of the journey (price 2.10€ as of Jan. 1, 2023).
Other accepted fares for Orly Airport via Tram 7 include a Paris Visite 5 zone ticket, Navigo Découverte pass, Mobilis 4 zone ticket.
Riding Tram 7 to Orly Airport
Tram 7 travels only in one direction from Villejuif – Louis Aragon station (which is the start of Tram 7) and that’s towards Athis Mons/Porte de l’Essonne. You’ll want to board a Tram with direction/terminus reading “Athis Mons / Porte de l’Essonne”. (Porte de l’Essonne is the stop inside the city of Athis-Mons.)
Once you board Tram 7, validate your ticket t+ using the validation machines located near Tram entrance doors and on center hand-hold poles throughout the Tram cars. Remember to keep your Tram ticket with you until you arrive at Orly Airport and exit the Tram otherwise you’re liable for a fine for traveling without a valid fare.
If you’re carrying luggage there will be foldable bench seating on every train car where you can stand with your luggage instead of blocking middle aisle space with your bags.
Travel time from Villejuif – Louis Aragon Metro station to Orly Airport T4 takes approximately 39 minutes. If you’re transferring from other Metro lines the ride from Central Paris to Orly could take anywhere from 45 minutes to 1 hour 30 minutes depending on your starting Metro station.
Orly Airport stop will not be the terminus so it is possible to miss the stop for Aéroport d’Orly (Orly Airport Terminal 4) so keep your eye out.
