A long layover

By | February 10, 2020 | in

Hi,
I am stopping over in Paris on 14 April and have a layover of quite many hours. But the problem is that I have a 4 year old child with me and found out AFTER booking the ticket that I have to check my luggage myself for the next flight. So I arrive at 10.30 am in Terminal 2D and depart at 09 pm from Terminal 1.
I was thinking of depositing my big bag at the storage which is near the train station in T2. and take the train to the city. On my way back I take the same train back to Terminal 2 and collect the bags first and then take the shuttle to Terminal 1. Such a hassle. I am unable to get a refund. So now I am looking for ways to save time and visit the city as well.
1 questions:

  1. If I want to see Sacre coeur, Eiffel tower and shop around a bit in Champs elysees, which station should I get off at and which that will take me directly to the airport? I am willing to skip Eiffel tower.
  2. Can you guide me how to reach Terminal 1 from the city, including collecting my bags from Terminal 2?

This way I will print that out and follow it.

Thank you
Maryam

Hi Maryam,

Sacre Coeur: RER B train from CDG T2 to Paris Gare du Nord, then Metro line 2 direction Porte Dauphine until Anvers station.
Champs Elysee: Metro line 2 from Anvers, direction Porte Dauphine until Charles de Gaulle Etoile station.
Eiffel Tower: From Charles de Gaulle Etoile station, take Metro 6 direction Nation until Bir-Hakeim.

Paris to CDG you would take the RER B train in direction Aeroport Charles de Gaulle until the last stop, which is CDG Terminal 2.  To get to Terminal 1 you would take the CDGVAL shuttle train inside CDG.
