At dec 31 after 17:00h public transport is free, but is it also free when I travel from the airport to Gare du Nord using RER B?

I'm not positive that it's free starting from CDG Airport train stations, but you'll be able to tell easily at either CDG Terminal 1/3 or CDG Terminal 2 train stations by looking at the fare gates (visible from the ticket purchasing window / office). If the gates are open for you to pass through (not closed tightly together), then the RER B train will be free from CDG to Paris.
