The best / cheapest multiple use pass is generally the Navigo Decouverte card.
Paris train tickets and passes (with few exceptions) are only available from ticket windows & ticket offices within Paris, Paris CDG / ORY airports, large train stations, Metro & RER stations.

If you're arriving by air to CDG, see the articles of how to buy find ticket offices in CDG airport terminals.
Pickpockets on Paris Metro trains. Yes, pickpockets exist in Paris, especially at Gare du Nord train station.  Be aware of your wallet/purse/phone while on the train platforms and on the train itself.  Just keep these items in your pockets / out of sight and you should be fine.
Most Paris Metro stations will accept credit cards for buying Paris Metro tickets as long as your card is protected by a PIN.
