my family of 5 (3 kids ages 10, 8, and 4) will be in Paris Thur through Wed, which transport tickets are best? We will be arriving and leaving from CDG and staying in the city center with one day trip to Versailles. We will stay close to Luxemburg RER station. Merci!

Single-use RER tickets for the CDG Airport to Paris train for everyone to get into Paris, and for travel within Paris itself I'd recommend Navigo Decouverte week pass for the adults and 10 year old and Paris Visite 1-3 zone 3 day passes for the 8 and 4 year old.

To get from Paris to Versailles, I'd recommend buying two single-use RER tickets for each of the two children ages 8 & 4 as their 1-3 zone Paris Visite will not cover Versailles (i.e. 4 tickets in total for the two children, one for getting to Versailles, one for returning to Paris, identical tickets, which can be used in either direction).  Everyone using the Navigo will already be covered for Versailles on RER trains.
