We will be taking the RER C to Versailles from Paris, and I am wondering if I should book those train tickets in advance instead of showing up at the station to buy them. If so, how do I go about booking them in advance?
Also, what is the most efficient means of getting from the airport (CDG) to Paris? We will have flown overnight and will have our luggage. We also do not know French.
Thank you!

For the RER C train (yellow line) from Paris to Versailles, there's actually no reserved seating and no advanced reservations.  So you can simply show up to a RER C station of your preference, buy a Paris Metro-Train-RER Ticket and hop on the next RER C with terminus of Versailles Rive-Gauche (closest station to Chateau Versailles).

CDG Airport to Paris best route would be RER B train.  There's two train stations at CDG Airport for the RER B train, "Aéroport CDG 1" one serving Terminal 1 / Terminal 3 (this station is inside a building named "Roissypole" in between T1 and T3, and another train station inside CDG Terminal 2 named Aéroport CDG 2 - TGV.  All of the ticket agents at Charles de Gaulle Airport's two train stations will speak English well and you'll have no problems communicating in English & buying tickets or passes here.

Have a great visit.
