A Paris Visite Pass in 2025 now covers all zones (1-5) for your choice of 1, 2, 3 or 5 days. It is good on Paris Metro, RER trains, buses and Ile-de-France (Transilien) trains & trams (not TGV) and you can travel between any train stations inside of Paris region’s 5 fare zones, including CDG Airport – Paris on RER B, Orly airport – Paris on Metro 14, Versailles, Disneyland, etc. using Paris Visite.
Paris Visite pass in 2025 is a digital-only multiple-use fare put on a Navigo Easy card, or smartphone app, or Apple Wallet. In 2024 and prior this pass was a paper coupon ticket that looked like the following:
Paris Visite in 2025 is no longer sold as a paper ticket. You must either put it onto a Navigo Easy card or your phone / Apple Wallet.

Navigo vs. Paris Visite
The key difference between the Paris Visite Pass and the Navigo Découverte Pass is the timing. Navigo passes are valid strictly from Monday 00:00 to Sunday 23:59:59, regardless of when you buy it. If you land at CDG Roissy-Charles de Gaulle Airport on Thursday and buy a week long Navigo Découverte pass, it will work only up until Sunday midnight. Starting from Friday, you will not even be able to purchase Navigo pass for use in the same week.
Paris Visite passes on the other hand, work for a continuous (up-to) 5 day period, starting from any day of the week (counting from when you first tap/activate the pass).
Paris Visite Duration
Paris Visite pass is good from the day of first use (not time of first use) up until midnight of its last day of validity, starting from any day of the week. This means that if you arrive on Friday evening at 8pm, buy and use a 3 day Paris Visite pass immediately, by midnight that night (four hours later), the card will have “used” an entire day. In two more days (Sunday) at midnight the Paris Visite will have expired. So to maximize the value of the Paris Visite Card, start using a Paris Visite pass during the morning or as early as you can. You can start using your Paris Visite as soon as 00:00:01 (one second after midnight) and you would get an entire 24 hours of coverage for that day.
A Paris Visite pass’ duration / validity period starts when you first validate/tap the pass, not when you buy it. You can buy a Paris Visite now and begin using it several months later. After buying a Paris Visite pass, its validity period of 1 to 5 days, begins ticking after your first tap to validate/activate it at a turnstile / fare-gate in a Metro or RER station or on a bus or tram.

Paris Visite activates on tap
If you’ve arrived in the evening at one of the Paris airports, it’s better to buy a single-use Paris Airport Train ticket from a ticket window or vending machine and use that to get you into Paris, rather than start using your Paris Visite multiday pass immediately.
Summary
In summary, if you’re arriving in Paris on Friday and want to have an unlimited Paris transit pass for 3 or 5 days, this is the least hassle pass option. Navigo Day passes are cheaper if you only need 1 or 2 days, but Day Passes are no longer valid at neither CDG nor Orly airport in Paris as of Janurary 1, 2025. But for 3+ days the Paris Visite avoids the hassle of return to a ticket vendor or ticket machine to buy/recharge your day passes or day tickets.
