Gare Lyon to Fontainbleu

By | July 18, 2025 | in

Is the ticket from Gare Lyon to Fontainbleu the same as a metro ticket?
If I'm in Paris with Metro-Train-RER tickets on my phone (Bonjour), do I just use the same ticket to go to Zone 5?
I ask because to go to CDG from city-center (RER B) requires another ticket, I think.  Could be a new change though.... (7/2025)
Thanks

Yes the train ticket for Paris Gare de Lyon to Fontainebleau (Paris Metro-Train-RER ticket) is the same price as a Paris Metro ticket: 2.50€.
Paris has combined the Metro and RER tickets (into the Metro-Train-RER ticket) to cover all zones for the same price (2.50€) so you would use the same ticket to go to Zone 5 as you would for Zone 1 (Paris Fare Zones map for others reading this question/answer).

Yes, you're correct, CDG to Paris requires a special Paris Region Airports Ticket due to CDG and Orly airports being in a special zone/category of their own.  There are ways to avoid paying that full train price by using Bus 350/351 from CDG to Paris (using a single Paris Bus-Tram ticket) and Tram 7/Metro 7 for Orly to Paris (using a Paris Bus-Tram ticket but also a Paris Metro-Train-RER ticket, since one cannot transfer from Tram to Metro using the same ticket) but those are obviously longer / more inconvenient trips.
