Paris RER Train Strike 2018
RER Strike April 28-29, 2018
Updated April 26, 2018.
Paris RER A & RER B trains will be affected by strike on Saturday April 28, 2018 and Sunday April 29, 2018.
RER B Trains from CDG Airport to Paris city center
Due to Paris Train strike action, the RER B CDG Airport train to Paris, will be running at reduced frequency on April 28, 2018 and April 29, 2018. The RER B train will be operating at half capacity or 1 train for every 2 airport trains normally scheduled.
Here is a calendar of Paris Train Strike days for April, May and June 2018 that are scheduled to affect Paris RER trains. Keep in mind these dates may change.
CDG to Paris Train Strike Schedule
Below is the CDG to Paris RER B train schedule during the Paris train strike on April 28 & 29, 2018.
How to read strike schedule for the RER B train: Find columns of times that stretch between Aeroport CDG 2 TGV (for CDG Terminal 2) or Aeroport CDG 1 (for CDG Terminal 1 & 3) and Gare du Nord.
At the top of the red highlighted columns (in image below) are RER B train departure times from the two CDG airport train stations. Bottom times are when the RER B train arrives at Gare du Nord. When a column of times has no times listed for the Aeroport CDG2-TGV / Aeroport CDG 1 rows, those trains don’t service the airport (and are on a separate leg of the RER B line which joins/forks at Aulnay-sous-Bois).
During the Paris train strike, RER B Trains departing CDG Airport will travel only as far as Gare du Nord station and terminate there at surface level. Passengers wishing to travel further south along the RER B train line (towards Paris city center stations St. Michel-Notre Dame, Chatelet Les Halles, Luxembourg, etc.) will need to transfer to an underground RER B train at Gare du Nord (using the same ticket). Follow the RER B signs at Gare du Nord to find the underground RER B train platforms that will continue service south throughout the city.
RER B Trains from Paris to CDG Airport
RER B trains from Paris city center to CDG Airport will depart from Gare du Nord at surface level lanes 30 to 36 (the Grandes Lignes area) during the strike. Normally RER B trains depart Gare du Nord from the underground platforms, but not during reduced service period of the Paris train strike.
Due to Paris train strike on Saturday April 28 and Sunday April 29, 2018 only 1 RER B train for every 2 normally scheduled will be running between Gare du Nord and CDG for the entire day. In addition, the Paris train strike will reduce RER B trains between southern terminus stations (Robinson/St-Remy-les-Chevreuse), central Paris and Gare du Nord to 2/3rd normal frequency during rush hours with normal frequency outside of rush hours.

Again, trains leaving Paris to Charles de Gaulle (CDG) Airport will be leaving from Gare du Nord, from surface level lanes 30-36. If you’re on RER B anywhere south of Gare du Nord (say at Chatelet Les Halles, Luxembourg, etc.) you’ll need to switch to a surface level RER B train at Gare du Nord to get to CDG Airport.
RER A Trains between Paris and Disneyland
RER A trains from Paris city center to Disneyland Paris will not be affected by the Paris train strike on April 28 & April 29, 2018 and will run at normal frequency. RER A trains from Paris to La Défense will also be running at normal frequency during the strike. Only RER A trains running between Paris and Cergy & Poissy will be running at 1/2 frequency during Paris train strike days.
RER C / RER D / RER E Trains
Paris Train Strike effect on RER C/D/E for April 28/29 2018 is unknown at this time.
Transilien Trains – La Defense to Versailles
Due to Paris train strike there will likely be a reduction in Versailles trains to 2/3 normal frequency from Paris La Defense to Versailles (Transilien L trains) for April 28 and and 1/3 normal frequency April 29, 2018. If there is a complete stoppage of trains along the Paris Versailles train line due to strike, bus service will substitue train service between Paris and Versailles on Transilien L line.
No RER Strike Planned for April 25, 26, 27 2018
No Strike action is planned for April 25, 26, 27 2018 and should not affect Paris Airport trains (RER B) on April 25, 2018. This will be updated as train authorities publish Paris train strike information.
General RER Strike Information
Paris Metro Trains are different from Paris RER trains.
CDG Airport trains are only RER trains, not Paris Metro trains.
